Leopard sejrede i Wallonie

Rytterne skulle over 224,4 kilometer fra Sambreville til Perwez. Dagens etape var fuldstændig flad og endte da også i en massespurt, hvor Bennati altså var stærkest. Han slog Danilo Napolitano (Acqua & Sapone) og norske Alexander Kristoff (BMC) som sine nærmeste konkurrenter.

Dermed forsvarede Joost Van Leijen (Vacansoleil-DCM) sin førertrøje, som han skal prøve at beholde, når feltet i morgen skal over en lettere kuperet etape på 151,6 kilometer, der køres fra Enghien til Mouscron.

Dagens sejr var desuden Bennatis femte i år. Senest vandt han den afsluttende etape til Wien i Tour of Austria.
